SATSOFT 3.7 is released

The next version of SATSOFT has now been released: SATSOFT 3.7 is out and available to users and customers.

This new version of SATSOFT brings several highly requested new features and numerous enhancements. Some highlights of the new functionality available in SATSOFT 3.7:

• Batch Export of ITU GXT Files: Export antenna pattern contours for all antennas of a satellite in one streamlined action.
• Beam Layout Polygons and Coverage Enhancements: The new Beam Layout Polygon simplifies spot beam design with 3- and 4-colour schemes, while the Coverage Type Manager adds flexibility to grid creation.
• Regions Attribute and Advanced Filtering: A new Regions attribute and enhanced filtering link beams and stations precisely, particularly useful for spot-beam antennas.
• HDF5 Format and Multi-Pattern Support: SATSOFT now supports importing HDF5-format files from TICRA Tools and assigning multiple pattern files to a single antenna model.

Batch Export of ITU GXT Files

This release introduces the capability to perform a batch export of ITU GXT files, improving efficiency for users managing multiple antennas. Previously, pattern contours had to be exported individually for each antenna, but now users can export all antennas of a satellite in one simple action. This streamlined process saves considerable time and effort, particularly in large-scale projects.

Beam Layout Polygons and Coverage Enhancements

The new Beam Layout Polygon provides a sophisticated solution for designing and managing spot beam layouts. It enables the rapid creation of 3- and 4-colour schemes for Beamlets and Stations, making beam grid design more intuitive and efficient. Furthermore, the Coverage Type Manager allows users to assign attributes such as Frequency, Polarisation, and Colour to polygons, facilitating seamless categorisation. These enhancements make it significantly easier to handle complex spot-beam configurations.

Regions Attribute and Advanced Filtering

A new Regions attribute has been introduced, offering enhanced filtering options in Performance Tables and enabling better linking between Beams and Stations. This feature allows users to filter data by Regions and Station Layer, providing a clear and concise view of relevant information for specific coverage areas. It is particularly beneficial for multi-beam projects, ensuring improved data clarity and more efficient performance analysis.

The new filtering capabilities are particularly useful for spot-beam antennas.

HDF5 Format and Multi-Pattern Support

SATSOFT now supports the import of HDF5 format pattern files from TICRA Tools, ensuring compatibility with the latest file standards and streamlining workflows for users of both. Additionally, users can assign multiple pattern files to a single antenna model, even when the files vary in format or beam configurations. This added flexibility allows for greater customisation of antenna models and simplifies the integration of diverse datasets into a cohesive project.
