Michael Palvig defends his PhD

24 Apr 2018

On Monday April 23, 2018, Michael Forum Palvig gave a public lecture on “Analysis and Design of Wideband Matched Feeds for Reflector Antennas” in partial fulfilment of the requirements for obtaining the PhD degree. The lecture was given at the Technical University of Denmark (DTU) with Professor Ratnajit Bhattacharjee, IIT, Guwahati, India, Associate Professor Jorge Teniente Vallinas, Public University of Navarra, Spain, and Professor Peter Uhd Jepsen, DTU, as external examiners.

Michael has made significant contributions to the concept of matched feeds, which are used to reduce the inherently high cross polarisation in offset reflector antennas. During his PhD, Michael has suggested new methods for increasing the operational bandwidth in comparison with existing designs, in particular for dual-polarised configurations.

Congratulations to Michael on his achievements.
