TICRA Welcomes HRH Prince Joachim and Delegation from Danish Embassy in Washington, D.C.

23 Sep 2025

In August 2025, TICRA had the honour of welcoming His Royal Highness Prince Joachim of Denmark, the Danish Defence Industry Attaché to the US, together with a delegation from the Danish Embassy in Washington, D.C., to our offices in Copenhagen.

The visit included a tour of TICRA’s headquarters, where the delegation met with engineers and experts working at the intersection of space, defence, and advanced electromagnetic simulation. Discussions centred on how TICRA’s specialised software contributes to solving complex challenges across these industries, enabling customers worldwide to design with greater speed, accuracy, and confidence.

“It was a privilege to share how TICRA’s technology, developed in close collaboration with the space and defence industry over several decades, continues to drive innovation in antenna modelling,” said Simon Barchard, CEO of TICRA. “We also see growing demand for our existing solutions in both Europe and North America, and visits such as these underscore the importance of transatlantic cooperation.

“The close cooperation between Denmark and the United States creates opportunities for Danish Defence companies to demonstrate their expertise,” said HRH Brigadier General Prince Joachim of Denmark, Defence Industry Attaché to the United States. “We are pleased to support these exchanges, which strengthen transatlantic ties in critical technology domains.”

TICRA’s Growing Role in Defence

While TICRA has long been recognised for its leadership in electromagnetic simulation for space, the company is now strengthening its explicit focus on defence applications. We are seeing increasing demand from our customers to address design challenges for mission-critical defence systems — from radar array optimisation to signature reduction. Supporting customers in achieving performance and resilience in their systems continues to be a key focus for TICRA going forward.

By combining decades of antenna modelling expertise with new capabilities tailored to defence, TICRA is well positioned to help engineers and organisations meet the demanding requirements of modern defence environments. In the increasingly important Electronic Warfare context, TICRA’s existing and upcoming capabilities within radar cross section, radome, maritime, and Active Electronically Scanned Array (AESA) radar simulation enable engineers to develop more advanced products, faster.

The defence focus reflects TICRA’s commitment to contributing to allied innovation and security, and to ensuring that defence stakeholders can rely on proven, specialist tools to solve their most complex electromagnetic challenges.

A memorable occasion, the visit underscored both the dedication of TICRA’s team and the broader relevance of our work in advancing antenna technology for mission-critical applications across space and defence.
