GRASP 10.6 is released

The latest release of GRASP offers easy definition of complicated geometries in CAD files and enhanced command manipulation, among many other new features.

Easy definition of complicated geometries in CAD files

GRASP 10.6 makes it significantly easier to define a complicated geometry to be analysed with the MoM/MLFMM solver. This is accomplished by allowing a direct link between an external CAD file and a geometrical object in GRASP. The new feature facilitates the inclusion of complex mechanical structures in the antenna analysis, e.g. to account for platform scattering.

The geometry defined in a CAD file is meshed automatically using large curved patches to allow efficient analysis with GRASP’s higher-order MoM/MLFMM solver.


Optimum overview of workflows with enhanced command manipulation

A revised Commands tab gives a better overview of workflows in GRASP projects and the users benefit from new features like the drag-and-drop commands as well as the copy-and-paste commands. The command list user interface has been substantially improved in terms of speed for projects containing hundreds or thousands of commands.

Several commands can now be grouped in user-defined functions, which can subsequently be used in the command stream of an analysis job.

While the MoM/MLFMM solver has long allowed for the computation of waveguide scattering parameters when the problem contains one or more waveguide ports, it is now also possible to visualize the result of these computations in the Results tab.

A feature that enables the user to define one or more clipping planes in the 3D view allows for visualizing complex 3D objects where it is sometimes necessary to inspect objects that are blocked visually by other parts of the same object.

Other enhancements

Along with a wide range of usability and performance improvements, the output capabilities in GRASP are extended making it possible to calculate the power flux through a surface defined as a Planar Grid. Additionally, visualisation of the field inside a dielectric region is now possible in the MoM/MLFMM calculations.
