Scattering between multiple objects

Multi-GTD is designed to perform geometrical theory of diffraction (GTD/UTD) analysis of large and complex reflectors and constructions. At frequencies where the structure may be of thousands of wavelengths in diameter, the user can investigate the scattering between many objects. This applies equally well to large, ground-based telescopes and space-borne equipment.

Identify possible ray paths

A plot of the ray tracing will often reveal details about scattering mechanisms that are not obtainable through a PO analysis. The Multi-GTD add-on uses a highly advanced ray-tracing approach to efficiently identify the possible ray paths in a given system.

Include influence of specific structure elements

For final analysis of spacecraft antennas it is often necessary to include influences from other parts of the structure, such as the satellite body, solar panels, experiment boxes etc. Using the Multi-GTD add-on with its automatic calculation of ray combinations will ensure an accurate analysis. The user may select only specific parts for the analysis to see the influence from that particular object to make it possible to adjust the layout to minimize beam distortions.
