Oscar is honored at the final day of EuCAP2014

Oscar Borries, working on his doctoral thesis at TICRA, was awarded the 2’nd price for the best Student Paper award at this year’s EuCAP. We, his colleagues at TICRA, are very proud and happy on his behalf. It was a strong competion with at least 100 student papers being submitted.

Oscar challenged the earlier conclusions that 2nd order was the the optimal basis function order for MLFMM, and clearly demonstrated that by carefully modifying several aspects of the standard MLFMM implementation he could increase the speed dramatically, and at the same time achieve low memory consumption for at least up to 5th order basis functions.
