Per Heighwood Nielsen has developed significant parts of the GRASP package. Important is the development of the Multi-reflector Add-On Package which is based on the Uniform Geometrical Theory of Diffraction. He has a long experience in ray tracing and diffraction calculations. In the later years he has worked intensively on the delicate scattering analyses of the Planck satellite. Per is member of TICRA's Board of Governors.

Kriging fitting, originally developed for geological exploitation, is here applied for fitting an expected pattern to noisy, irregular in-flight measurements of a satellite antenna...

In-flight measurements of satellite antenna patterns are often given in a highly irregular grid and the data may be influenced by severe noise such that an accurate pat-tern determination is...

Accurate fitting of the noisy irregular amplitude only main beam data is essential for the retrieval of the Planck space telescope geometry. Therefore, a novel two-step fit-ting algorithm which...

The in-flight pattern measurements of a sub-millimetre space telescope may be improved by determining the actual reflector anomalies and then include the knowledge to these in the final pattern de...

This paper summarises the work done over the last few years on the prediction of the RF performance of the Planck telescope, which was done initially to support the design phase, and later to...

It is important to know the antenna patterns for the Planck Space Telescope with high accuracy for detectors operating at frequencies from 30 to 857 GHz. This could not be achieved with sufficient...

ESA’s Compact Antenna Test Range at ESTEC has been relocated which has given the chance to improve the alignment of the reflectors. Based on measurements of the reflector surfaces the best-fit...

A compact antenna test range has been analysed for stray signals. The analysis is based on GTD ray tracing, i.e. obeying the reflection law in the chamber walls and assuming straight edges of...

In this paper bolometric detectors applied in conjunction with reflector antenna feed horns that support multiple modes are studied. As an example, the preliminary design of the Planck telescope...

Compact ranges based on reflector technology may be based on different designs: single offset reflec- tor, dual offset reflector compensated for cross polarisation or an offset dual reflector...
